Dr. Peter Kells in collaboration with A. T. Malcolm & Associates Inc. provides consulting, intervention and training services to Organizations and their Employees. Individual and Group Training Programs

Harassment Prevention and Resolution

Sexual and psychological harassment are against the law, erode mutual confidence and respect for individuals and often lead to a poisoned work environment. As a result, team cohesion, morale, operational effectiveness and productivity are degraded.

This training program:

  • Informs members at all levels of the organization about behaviours that constitute both forms of harassment;
  • Describes rights and responsibilities;
  • Describes methods of dealing with harassment and conflict situations and outlines available resources;
  • Provides leaders, supervisors and managers with guidance, training and support to carry out their responsibilities to prevent harassments and resolve conflicts as they occur;
  • Establishes resolution processes including those dealing with complaint procedures, complaint resolution methods and remedial, corrective and restorative measures; and,
  • Details assessment tools used to monitor the effectiveness of the harassment policy.
Individual and group training programs are available in 1-3 day sessions (on- site or at the offices of A.T. Malcolm & Associates Inc.)

Business Communication Skills - Writing and Presentations

Much business writing fails to communicate effectively. It is clogged with laboriously long sentences, meaningless phrases and the gibberish of technical jargon.

This training program addresses:

  • Memorandum preparation;
  • Letter writing;
  • Business reports;
  • Technical reports; and,
  • Use of graphics.
Individual and group training are available in the form of 1 day sessions on-site or at the offices of A.T. Malcolm & Associates Inc.

Labour/Management Relations

The cornerstone of a successful relationship between Management and their Labour force has to include consultation, participative decision-making and problem-solving in an atmosphere of cooperation and trust. Interpersonal relations must be assessed and rationalized, and task functions analyzed, understood and agreed upon if a climate of mistrust and confrontation is to be avoided.

This training program examines and develops the following required competencies:

  • Labour/Management Relations Models;
  • Values, Attitudes and Behaviours;
  • Effective Communication;
  • Group Dynamics;
  • Problem-Solving; and,
  • Decision-Making.

Management and Supervisor Training

Managers and Supervisors provide the direction and cohesion necessary for achieving goals and realizing the purpose of an organization. The effectiveness of an organization depends on the abilities, training and motivation of its managers and supervisors. This training program focuses on the knowledge and skills required to successfully direct people and the challenges of coordinating their activities.

Performance Management Review

Appraising workplace performance is a key element of planning. Being aware and knowledgeable about employees’ strengths and weaknesses is essential to the success of an organization.

The following key concerns involved in the Performance Management Process are examined:
