Psycho-educational Assessments

Psycho-educational assessments including:

  • Learning Disorders
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Other developmental, academic and behavioural difficulties


Mood

Clinical assessments including evaluations related to the presence of:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Other mood disorders


Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

This practice provides comprehensive assessments pertaining to PTSD for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Canadian Forces, ICBC, lawyers (on behalf of their clients), members of the RCMP and other police forces, and private clients. Neuropsychological and General Cognitive Assessments

Neuropsychological and general cognitive assessments examine for potential cognitive difficulties stemming from:
  • Brain injuries/Concussion
  • Degenerative illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease
  • The effects of substance abuse
  • Exposure to toxins and chemicals


Psycho-legal Assessments

Psycho-legal assessments may include any of the above, and are provided when litigation is involved in settlements. Such actions sometimes follow motor vehicle accidents and civil suits following, for example, criminal acts.



Vocational Assessments

Vocational assessments include the measurement and analysis of:
  • Vocational interests
  • Vocational aptitudes
  • Intellectual ability
  • Academic achievement levels
  • Physical limitations (information provided by other health professionals)
These and other factors are integrated to provide a comprehensive list of occupations that meet your profile. Also, recommendations are provided regarding your potential for further education/training.



Geriatric Assessments

Geriatric Assessments are provided by Dr. Patrick Corney and Dr. Tamara Goranson. These assessments result in recommendations concerning the ability of elderly persons to live alone, manage their finances, and generally cope with activies of daily living. The assessments are a specialized form of neuropsychological assessment.


Custody and Access Assessments

Custody and access assessments and parental assessments are provided by Dr. Mel Stangeland and, through this practice, Dr. Larry Waterman.
